Shandong Rifa Textile Machinery deeply cultivates the weaving machine subdivision field. Through continuous R&D innovation and intelligent transformation, they have developed unique skills and gained new advantages for development.
Since the beginning of this year, Shandong RIFA has been producing the intelligent drive-control integrated air-jet weaving machine at full capacity. This weaving machine, independently developed by the company, is priced at only 60% of the same performance foreign brand.
Manager Chi Lianxun of the Technical Department, Special Weaving Machine Division of Shandong RIRFA, introduced: "The overall cost-performance ratio of the weaving machine is very high. The feeding, rolling, weaving, and driving of the weaving machine are all concentrated in one core CPU (central processing unit) control, which saves more than 10% electricity and more than 15% gas compared to the previous generation of RIFA weaving machines, reaching the level of advanced international weaving machines."
The air-jet weaving machine is RIFA's flagship product, occupying more than 20% of the domestic market share. However, due to reliance on purchased core components—the electronic control system—the company's production costs remain high, making the product market price uncontrollable.
Manager Zhang Qingyuan of the Technical Department, Air-Jet Division of Shandong RIFA, stated: "The cost of this component accounts for about one-fifth of the entire weaving machine. It is provided in sets by suppliers, with unstable and uncontrollable performance and high costs. We have also thought about independent R&D and production. The whole weaving machine has three drives. How to integrate these three drives into the main control and improve the overall operational efficiency of the main control has been a problem we have struggled to solve."
Tackling the key technologies of core components, this problem set by the company was included in the "solving" list by the local industry and information technology department. They took the initiative to connect the company with research and development resources from universities such as Shandong University and to secure award subsidies for the company, establishing a national-level industrial design center in the "workshop".
Director Song Jie of the Liaocheng Small and Medium Enterprise Development Promotion Center said: "We will include it in the cultivation library of the manufacturing industry 'single champion', encourage companies to renew equipment and upgrade technology, and let the R&D results of the electronic control system quickly industrialize."
With the support of scientific and technological innovation resources, the company soon realized the independent production of the electronic control system. This component alone can save the company nearly 50% of production costs annually. Meanwhile, in response to the transformation needs of the textile industry, the company continuously seeks the digital and intelligent transformation of the electronic control system, developing the intelligent textile cloud platform to achieve centralized control over many weaving machines by one "brain".
Manager Hou Zhaochong of the R&D Management Department of Shandong RIFA introduced: "The electronic control system of each weaving machine has an embedded network module, which monitors the operating efficiency and process parameters of the machine group in real-time, and directly internally transmits data. Customers no longer need to purchase operation, maintenance, or cloud services from third parties, reducing customer usage costs."
Develop unique skills and tap into niche tracks. In 2024, Shandong RIFA achieved an operating income of 2 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 41%, and achieved a net profit of 170 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 44%.
General Manager Shen Jingchun of the Special Business Unit of Shandong RIFA stated: "Relying on scientific and technological innovation and digital transformation, we comprehensively improve the intelligent manufacturing level of weaving machines, continuously increase R&D investment, promote technological upgrades of existing product lines, meet diversified market demands, deeply cultivate subdivision fields, and create more 'single champion' products."
