In the prominent spot of the second-floor lobby in the factory area of Jiangsu Sidefu New Material Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Sidefu New Material"), there's a table with a simple design and ancient appearance, which is quite eye-catching. Speaking of this table, there is a small story behind it witnessing friendship - In 2017, the Chairman of Jiangsu Sidefu Textile Co., Ltd., Du Anhui, and his team visited Zhejiang Rifa Textile Machinery Co., Ltd. for inspection and took a liking to the table, even wanting to buy it. Wang Chuanguo, general manager of RIFA's air-jet loom division, suggested giving it as a souvenir. This table has been at Sidefu New Material for 7 years, which is a testament to our cooperation and a symbol of our friendship. We place this table symbolizing friendship in the most visible place to witness our growth," said Feng Shengguo, general manager of Sidefu New Material.
Established in 2016, Sidefu New Material is a subsidiary of Jiangsu Sidefu Textile Co., Ltd., mainly providing high-quality towel products such as bamboo charcoal fibers, milk fibers, bamboo cotton fibers, natural colored cotton, polyester cotton blends, and long-staple cotton to star-rated hotels. They also custom-produce household towels, sports towels, leisure beach towels, various bath and spa towels, and baby towel blankets. Feng Shengguo said, "Sidefu's main business includes three sectors - bedding, towels, and dining linens. Sidefu New Material mainly handles the towel business."
As a long-term designated supplier for major hotel brands like Hilton, Marriott, and Intercontinental, Sidefu New Material has always centered on user needs, scientifically designing towel products, and implementing excellent management in the manufacturing process. Their products cover more than 20 provinces and cities domestically and are exported to over 50 countries and regions abroad. "Sidefu New Material's towel products have an annual export ratio of about 30%, mainly to markets in Europe and the Middle East. We are currently developing the Southeast Asian market," said Feng Shengguo.
In recent years, Sidefu New Material has focused on research and production quality control, with the help of advanced equipment, making their products highly sought after. Feng Shengguo said: "Jiangsu Sidefu Textile Co., Ltd. has a research team of more than 50 people, and our research team consists of 7-8 researchers. Apart from designing our towel patterns, we also custom design and produce according to customer requirements. Since hotel towels are relatively monotonous in pattern, we put effort into material design improvements, such as anti-slip treatment for hotel floor towels and antibacterial design for hotel towels.”
In 2023, Sidefu New Material had an output value of around 670 million yuan, with a profit of over 30 million yuan. Feng Shengguo admitted that achieving such results amid fierce market competition is not easy. Especially with the current unstable raw material market, the equipment must be high-end. "As the saying goes, good horses need good saddles. RIFA's equipment gives us great confidence in the unstable market environment. We are currently using RIFA's high-speed rapier towel looms and air-jet towel looms. RIFA's high-speed rapier towel looms use a unique space-extended cam direct drive rapier and rapier head, with a short transmission chain, small inertia, and simple structure, suitable for high-speed operations. The conjugate cam beating-up structure is placed inside the breast beam, with electronic fabric movement for pile formation and integrated moving support. RIFA's air-jet towel looms use stereo design and computer analysis combination, using virtual prototype technology to design weft insertion, shedding, beating-up, and pile-forming mechanisms, showing excellent adaptability to high speed and variety, with characteristics of energy saving, low consumption, high speed, high efficiency, and wide adaptability to varieties."
Speaking about the cooperation with RIFA, Feng Shengguo described it as "smooth and pleasant."
"We started purchasing Rifa Textile Machinery's towel looms in 2017. Before that, we used another brand's equipment, but its shortcomings became increasingly apparent after some time. After a series of operations and efforts to improve, we found that the existing equipment could not meet our meticulous requirements for product quality. So, we specifically went to Rifa Textile Machinery for investigation and learned about the use of RIFA products from some peers. After comprehensive evaluation, we decisively chose RIFA's equipment." A 1990 graduate of Wuxi Light Industry Institute (now "Jiangnan University"), Feng Shengguo deeply understands what equipment means for high-quality products.
In actual production, RIFA's towel looms showed significant advantages, not only reducing labor costs but also performing excellently in increasing speed and efficiency. Compared to similar products, RIFA's equipment stands out in quality and service. "In the past, we used some old towel looms, where a worker managed 4-6 machines. Now, a worker still manages 6 machines, but the efficiency has increased by 3-4 times," Feng Shengguo said.
"As we know, RIFA has a strong research team. Upholding the product innovation goal of 'allowing customers to economically produce better products,' they align more precisely with customer needs in technical research, earning recognition from more and more customers like us. RIFA's innovation can help us reduce costs and increase efficiency, achieving intelligent management. Currently, improving the intelligence and digitalization of equipment is imminent. RIFA has done a lot of work in these areas, and during our cooperation, we can deeply feel their efforts," said Feng Shengguo.
"In terms of service, RIFA aims to provide more efficient, convenient, and high-quality services to its customers, offering 24-hour service. Although RIFA merged its Nantong and Huai'an after-sales service stations, communication is completely unaffected. For RIFA's pre-sale and after-sale service, I give a rating of professional, fast, and efficient," said Feng Shengguo.
"Nantong is a textile hub. In recent years, to improve product quality and efficiency, many textile companies, like us, have upgraded their equipment. When they learned we were using RIFA's equipment, they came to investigate, and we shared our real experience. They also chose RIFA's equipment after their on-site investigations and our recommendations. After using it for some time, their evaluations of RIFA coincide with ours, which is double first-class in quality and service," said Feng Shengguo.
"RIFA's research and development speed in the fields of the air-jet loom and the high-speed rapier loom should be the fastest domestically. Talking about Sidefu New Material's development plan, Feng Shengguo said the company would add some equipment based on the operating conditions according to the previously reserved positions.
Feng Shengguo also admitted that the current employee turnover is relatively high. However, by using RIFA's high-end equipment, which is easy to operate, it has played a key role in retaining employees.
"In recent years, Rifa Textile Machinery has been striving for excellence in equipment research and manufacturing. From the user's perspective, if I am to give some rational suggestions, I hope RIFA can further improve the material of easily worn components. Also, I believe RIFA has room for improvement in intelligence to meet the demands for intelligent and digital transformation of user enterprises," said Feng Shengguo.
Since its inception, Sidefu New Material has taken the production of high-end products and meeting high-end brand user needs as its mission, winning the hearts of many brand hotels by using high-end equipment and quality raw materials. "Currently, our customer base is very stable, and we have plenty of orders in hand," said Feng Shengguo. "The procurement president of Hilton Asia-Pacific is about to visit. With the support of RIFA's equipment, I believe we will have greater cooperation space with Hilton."
